He was originally shipped from Ohio to St. Thomas in 2012 to race, but due to injury and the eventual halt of racing in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he was retired to a local rescue. During his time there, Poppin—along with his best friend Call Daddy (“Papi”)—endured periods of neglect and starvation. Thankfully, a new group stepped in, and in 2023 both horses were transferred to Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare in Puerto Rico, where they have been able to heal and thrive. Temperament & RideabilityPoppin is truly a sweetheart, both on the ground and under saddle. He is kind, quiet, and easy to handle, making him a pleasure to work with. Under saddle, he is steady and suitable for low-level riding, particularly trail work, where his calm nature really shines. A Bond Worth KeepingPoppin shares a deep bond with his companion, Call Daddy (“Papi”), and we would love to see them placed together. Their connection brings them comfort and confidence, and they thrive in each other’s presence. The Details✔️ Up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and farrier care✔️ Gentle and easygoing temperament✔️ Suitable for low-level trail riding Poppin is looking for a loving, relaxed home—ideally alongside Papi—where he can continue to enjoy a peaceful life filled with kindness and care. Some horses are special on their own—Poppin is even more special with his best friend by his side. Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare Inc. is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
