Breed: Pony, Grade Gender: Mare Age: 5 Height: 10.2hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Companion, Prospect for Any Discipline Adoption fee: $350 Location: Horses' Haven — Howell, MI Berry is a spicy mare with plenty of personality who has made great progress since coming to Horses’ Haven through an Animal Control case. She arrived with dangerous behaviors and aggression toward people, but through a structured training program, she is learning boundaries, good manners, and appropriate interactions. Berry is now easy to catch and can live with mares, geldings, and donkeys. She stands well for the farrier and can have her shoes put on without sedation. She is continuing to work on picking up her hind feet. Berry is a project with no training in her past. She is not kid or beginner safe and will need a knowledgeable home willing to continue her training and reinforce her manners. Berry also requires corrective shoeing due to rotation and a carefully managed low-to-no-grass pasture to support her hoof health and weight. Berry has made great strides and is looking for someone experienced who can continue helping her succeed. Horses' Haven is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale. Message Horses' Haven here on tacktack to ask about Berry and the adoption process.
