About this item

Breed: Thoroughbred Gender: Mare Age: 6 Height: 15.3hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Prospect for Any Discipline, RRP Thoroughbred Makeover Eligible Adoption fee: $950 Location: Second Stride — Crestwood, KY 6 year old thoroughbred mare bred in KY Tapiture (Tapit) out of Momentiempo by Medaglia D'Oro Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION! 15.3 hands. She last raced on 2/27/26 and retired sound. She is a race winner of over $100,000! Jeanie is an intelligent mare who has settled into retirement nicely. She enjoys supervising the farm from her stall during the day and is quiet with her mare friends in the field overnight. Jeannie walks politely on a lead rope and stands well for bathing and grooming. Under saddle, Jeannie is forward but reasonable. With an experienced rider, she should develop nicely into a sport or pleasure companion. Jeannie is smaller in stature but has a round barrel - she can comfortably carry English or western tack. She stands quietly at the mounting block and has a quiet mouth. She is very willing and sensible. With time and training, she will be quiet enough to go on weekend/camping trail adventures or settle in nicely at shows. Jeannie currently has four shoes due to tender hind feet. We do not expect her to need hind shoes after a few cycles. She is suitable for any non-racing discipline. Second Stride is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
