Breed: Grade Gender: Mare Age: 7 Height: 14.3hh Color: Black Disciplines: Companion Adoption fee: $800 Location: Texas 4-H Homes for Horses — College Station , TX Luna is a charming mare with a sweet personality that is sure to brighten your day. While she was initially shy and unsure around new people, she has blossomed into a loving and engaging partner who enjoys attention, grooming sessions, and the occasional tasty treat. Luna is eager to learn and genuinely wants to please her handler. She responds well to positive reinforcement and thrives with a calm, confident leader who helps build her trust and confidence. Her willing attitude and kind nature make her a rewarding horse to spend time with. Luna has been diagnosed with kissing spine, which makes her unsuitable for riding. Despite this limitation, she remains happy, interactive, and enthusiastic about groundwork activities, making her an excellent companion and in-hand partner. She has excellent ground manners and is easy to handle, standing quietly when tied, loading well into a trailer, picking up all four feet, and behaving nicely in both the wash rack and the stall. Luna especially enjoys liberty work and ground driving, where her intelligence and personality truly shine. Luna would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a friendly, low-maintenance companion with a solid foundation and a desire to connect with her person. If you're looking for a sweet mare to grow with and enjoy on the ground, Luna may be the perfect match. About the Texas 4-H Homes for Horses Program Luna is available through the Texas 4-H Homes for Horses Program, a unique educational and horse-placement initiative that partners 4-H youth participants with horses in need of additional training, handling, and evaluation. Throughout the program, horses receive consistent care, groundwork, and training while youth develop valuable horsemanship and life skills under the guidance of experienced mentors. At the conclusion of the program, horses are matched with suitable adoptive homes where they can continue to thrive. Luna has spent the past year in the program receiving regular handling and training, helping prepare her for a successful transition into her next forever home. https://www.tx4-hhomesforhorses.com/ Texas 4-H Homes for Horses is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
