About this item

Breed: Donkey Gender: Gelding Age: 3 Height: 13.0hh Color: Sorrel Disciplines: Other, Companion, Therapy - Non-Riding Adoption fee: $1,000 Location: Oscar's Place Adoption Center & Sanctuary — Hopland, CA Meet Humphrey! Humphrey is a beautiful young donkey who was rescued from the Bowie, Texas auction in February 2026. It’s hard to understand how this handsome boy ended up in an auction, but we’re so grateful he found his way to safety. Humphrey is curious and sweet, though he can be a little shy when he first meets you. Give him a little time—and a few good butt scratches—and you’ll quickly see his gentle personality start to shine! With his striking color and beautiful markings, Humphrey is truly a head-turner. He also has a BLM freeze brand, adding a little more history to his story. Most importantly, Humphrey isn’t looking for just any home—he’s looking for a forever home where he can continue to feel safe, loved, and valued. He is available for adoption together with his bonded companion, Levi. These two have been inseparable since the day we met them at the auction, and we are committed to keeping them together. Could you be the forever family Humphrey and Levi have been waiting for? Please see Levi’s listing for more information about this special pair. Adoption fee $1800 for both donkeys Oscar's Place Adoption Center & Sanctuary is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
