Breed: Thoroughbred Gender: Gelding Age: 8 Height: 16.0hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Prospect for Any Discipline, RRP Thoroughbred Makeover Eligible Adoption fee: $1,050 Location: Second Stride — Crestwood, KY 8 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY Paynter (Awesome Again) out of I Have A Price by Succesful Appeal Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION! 16 hands with a smaller frame. He last raced on 12/8/24 and retired a winner! He is a worker with over $144,000 in earnings. We are not aware of an injury history. He has been sound under saddle since retiring. Appraisal was accepted quickly by our herd of geldings, and he seems to get along well with all of them. He doesn't seem to be dominate or the low man. Appraisal is a nice horse to work with and is respectful of his handlers, grooms and caretakers. He is quiet in his stall and doesn't bother his neighbors. He settles down quickly to graze when turned out. He stood well for the vet and farrier. Appraisal should be suitable for any non-racing discipline. He is a forward ride and does well with a relaxed, confident adult rider. He may be a good fit for a skilled teenager working closely with a trainer. We can see him shining in eventing and show jumping. Second Stride is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale. Rescue website: https://www.secondstride.org
