Hitter is an 11-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, standing 16.1 hh, bay in color, located in Raymondville, Texas. The price is $1,000, negotiable. Hitter is looking for a loving pasture retirement. He retired from racing at 3 years old due to a bowed tendon and has mild stifle arthritis, so he is not sound for riding and is being placed strictly as a companion horse. He has a kind, gentle personality and is low on the pecking order, making him an easy addition to most herds. Hitter stands well for the farrier and ties quietly, though he needs some patience when loading into a trailer. His Jockey Club papers are available, and he is a descendant of Secretariat.
