Nice, France | 16.5" | 6.5" Tree Size
About this item
Brand: Nice, France: Quality Saddlery Seat size: 16.5" Tree size: 6.5" Don’t let the name fool you—this isn't just a "nice" saddle; it is a NICE Quality Saddlery find. Designed in Nice, France, and handmade in Argentina in the late 80s/early 90s, this brand was the predecessor to the famous Henri de Rivel (HDR) line. This beautiful two-tone saddle offers the sophisticated "French feel"—balanced and narrow through the twist—but built on a rare, generous tree. * Seat Size: 16.5" (Fits a bit generous, just shy of 17”) * Tree: Traditional wood-sprung tree. Fully sound and secure. * Width: Wide. Measures about 6” and some change nailhead-to-nailhead. * Flap: Forward-cut close contact flap, ideal for jumping. * Leather: Stunning two-tone high-quality leather. Excellent condition—supple, grippy, and well-maintained. * Seat: Moderately padded for comfort while maintaining a close-contact feel. * Flocking: wool flocked. This is superior to mass produced foam models because the wool flocking can be adjusted or replaced by saddlers. Why choose this saddle? Before HDR moved to mass-market production, these NICE saddles were hand-crafted with high-end materials. If you like the balance of a Pessoa or an old-school Crosby, you will be impressed by this quality. Did my best to take a nailhead-to-nailhead measurement to gauge the tree width. Also fits my hand in the gullet.
