Seat size: 16.5" Tree size: 5" I’m a bit heartbroken about selling this absolute gem, but it is just a bit too narrow for horse I’m riding right now. And I’ve gotten a smidge too tall to justify keeping it for another horse. This is a rare Ruiz Diaz era Collegiate—built back when the leather quality and craftsmanship were at their peak. Expertly handcrafted by famed Argentinian saddlemaker, Ruiz Diaz. Key Features: * Seat Size: 16.5” * Tree: Wood Sprung Tree (Sound and balanced). * Panels: High-quality plush Wool Flocking —this is a huge advantage because the wool flocking can be adjusted for fit, or replaced as it ages by a saddle fitter. * Flaps: 13.5”W x 13.5”L Forward Flaps * Condition: Excellent. Leather is supple, billets are in great shape, and it has been meticulously cleaned and conditioned. * Leather: the Ruiz Diaz leather is light years ahead of modern mass-produced entry-level saddles, including modern collegiates. Colour: beautiful sort of red-tone brown. Flaps a bit more deep red-brown, seat lighter tone. The Ride: Don't let the sleek profile fool you—the seat is pleasantly cushy and surprisingly comfortable! I’m a bony person and I found this was great for where I lacked natural padding in the…um, lady bits. I could post without my stirrups. Even with the seemingly barely-there knee rolls, the balance is so good that you feel secure and "locked in" without any knee pain. It feels way cushier than it looks. Fit Details: * Nail-to-Nail: ~5” * Internal Channel: ~3” at the widest point. * Best For: This saddle is a dream for Narrower/potentially Higher-withered breeds. If you have a Thoroughbred, Arabian, or a slender Warmblood, this will likely be a perfect match. It offers about a "4-finger" gullet width for reference. * I measured by hand as best I could.
