PLEASE INQUIRE FOR MOST RECENT FEES West 2022 QH cross Black Stallion (will be gelded) 14 HH estimated Fee: TBD by trainer - $1,800 is the rescue base fee and not this horse's fee now that he is in training. Will have a fee set when closer to ready for a home. West is in training with Randy McStoots. Follow his progress at #hopteamwest. Well we had a sit down meeting with West and had a long discussion about what we’ve worked on, what we still need to work on, out short term goals and our long term goals. In honesty, due to my overloaded schedule, he hasn’t been touched other than turning in and out and the occasional grooming and attention during his stall cleaning. So we haven’t accomplished much at all since our last post aside from getting more settled, comfortable, and confident with people. Which is actually a positive for this guy. We have a ton we still need to work on. But that will come. We’ll take things day by day and see where we end up. Short term goals are to actually start getting to work and getting an education. Long term goals are to make him the best citizen possible to become adoptable and be a trustworthy partner. This may mean simply dropping from competition and taking things as they go until he’s ready to find his partner. He does have a great chance at becoming a solid mount for a youth rider eventually. His size and athleticism will allow him to go most any direction with a kiddo. Here’s to hoping we are able to make some time he so definitely deserves. West can currently lunge, stands for grooming, farrier, baths, fly spray, and tacking up. We have started working on basic obstacles. He has also shown that his favorite thing to do is sit around and watch other horses work in the lesson program. He is very much a pleaser, but has his reservations about most things. Given time and consistency he picks up on most things very easily. Details Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs. We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
