Follow his progress at #hopteamcuriousgeorge From the Trainer 7/9/26 2nd required post George is getting comfortable in tack. He accepts saddling well but as I suspected is not as easy about taking the bridle but has gotten much better about his face and ears overall so we will just keep working at it and im sure it will improve also. He ties and loads very well. George accepts grooming, his feet being handled and fly spray very well. He is happy to be sprayed by the hose over his front end but dances a bit with the back side. Right now he is more whoa then go with the ridden work and is getting soft and responsive to the bit and rein. George is typically a brave and sensible guy. He tries hard and will generally think his way through things. George is as his name says. Hes a Curious fella. Doing projects in the barn? Using power tools? Hammering? He will stop in to say hi and see if he can be of assistance. Want to play with obstacles? Hes totally game for whatever we have thrown at him so far. There's not much I have found him to be that weary or afraid of. His curiosity helps him be a brave boy. Obstacles so far have been his jam in hand as you can see by the video. He is willing to go check everything out and then happily completes the tasks without drama. He has shown to be pretty level headed in these aspects. Thats a big plus for a pony! George is slowly getting use to tack and is also working on ground driving skills. (This will be shown in a future video soon) I have sat on George once but so far thats it. I want to make sure all the preparation boxes are checked off before we rush to saddle work. Our next goals to accomplish is being comfortable working in tack, more ground driving (so I have steering), and getting riding started. George is simply smart, curious, and brave and is gonna make someone a fabulous pony. Big things can come in small packages and George is here to prove it. Details Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs. We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
