He last worked on 5/21/26 and retired with a left front canon bone fracture that was repaired and he has 3 screws in the leg. He was castrated in July 2026. Orville. The name fits the horse. He is a petite, sweet and kind boy with a willing attitude and sensible brain. He has an easy going personality as well. He has completed his rehab and is turning out with other geldings and doing great. He did fine when introduced to a group of 3 geldings a few days after arriving to our farm and there hasn’t been any issues acclimating to and being accepted by the herd. Orville enjoys his bathing and grooming sessions, and he stood well for the vet and farrier. He doesn’t mind being groomed while he is eating and seems to accept most everything in stride. He has been polite to his handlers and walks politely on a lead rope. He doesn’t have any vices. Orville remains quiet in his stall and settles down quickly to graze when turned out. Orville is well behaved under saddle and is an easy, uncomplicated ride. He responds well to his rider and has a calm demeanor. He is not spooky or reactive and seems very sensible and brave. He was sensible at the track as well and we expect him to be sensible in his new home. He may be an option for a lesson program for intermediate and up riders. Orville should be suitable for any discipline, but he should not jump before September 2026. Second Stride is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
