About this item

Breed: Grade, Thoroughbred, Canadian Horse Gender: Mare Age: 12 Height: 15.1hh Color: Dark Bay Disciplines: Prospect for Any Discipline Adoption fee: $1 Location: Owner to Owner Program — Woodbine, MD Gumball is one of nine horses currently seeking placement through our program following the tragic passing of one owner, which has left the remaining elderly owner unable to continue their care. While her exact age is unknown, we estimate she is approximately 10–15 years old and stands around 15.1–15.2hh. Gubmall has had minimal handling and we were told she has not previously left the property. She will require an experienced trainer or handler familiar with desensitization and working with unhandled horses. However, she has not had any negative interactions with people and presents as a friendly, curious mare who willingly approaches—sometimes with little regard for personal space. With consistent handling, we anticipate she will progress well. As expected, Gubmall has not been started under saddle. Once she establishes a solid foundation on the ground, we see no reason she could not move forward with training. She appears sound, is solidly built, and, combined with her willing temperament, shows strong potential for future development with the right program. Gubmall maintains her condition easily and is currently living out 24/7, barefoot, and unblanketed, having wintered well in this environment. At this time, she is not up to date on routine care beyond daily feeding. Her new owner should be prepared to address Coggins, vaccinations, deworming, dental, and farrier needs. She has been turned out successfully with both mares and geldings. For someone with the experience and resources to invest in her development, Gumball offers significant potential. If you’re interested in learning more, we would be happy to speak with you. Owner to Owner Program (O2O) is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale.
