Breed: American Quarter Horse Gender: Mare Age: 22 Height: 15.0hh Color: Chestnut Disciplines: Companion Adoption fee: $1 Location: Owner to Owner Program β Woodbine, MD Ears on Backwards (aka - "Ears") is a 2003, 15h Quarter Horse mare seeking a home as a companion. Due to her owner having difficulty keeping up with the care of her horses and farm, both physically and financially, Ears is in need of a new, loving home as a non-riding companion horse. Ears is a nice horse but, as with most mares, does have her opinions. So she'd be best suited for an intermediate handler. She ties, stands quietly for grooming, picks up all four hooves, sprays and bathes. She is good for the vet and farrier. Ears has been turned out with geldings and does very well, so she would be suitable for a mixed herd. She has currently been getting turned out by herself, but adjacent to another horse. Ears is an easy-keeper and it doesn't take much to maintain her full figure. Ears has calcification at the front of both front pasterns that appear to be ringbone. She has been sore at times and does best with 24/7 turnout on fairly flat terrain. If you feel you could give Ears the wonderful new home she deserves, let us know! Owner to Owner Program (O2O) is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale. Message Owner to Owner Program (O2O) here on tacktack to ask about Ears on Backwards and the adoption process.
