Follow his progress at #hopteamCornelius https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61565082897443 From the trainer 7/7/26 you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have a golden retriever but as a horse, then Corn Cob might be your guy! Cornelius is a coming 2-year-old Morgan cross, currently standing at almost 14 hands and still growing. He’s an absolute cuddle bug and a true barn favorite. It takes about two seconds to fall in love with him, he genuinely loves people and is happiest when he’s getting attention, learning something new, or simply soaking up all the scratches he can get, which are made better with the occasional cookie. Cornelius enjoys having a job, loves interacting with people, and approaches new experiences with curiosity instead of worry. He’s thoughtful, willing nature, and eager to learn attitude has him learning new obstacles incredibly quickly. Things Cornelius already does confidently: Leads politely Trots in hand Lunges at the walk, trot, and canter in both directions Has started learning liberty work and is already showing great promise Drags objects without concern Walks over poles and tarps Comfortably wears a surcingle Stands well for handling all four feet and farrier Stands quietly both single tied and cross tied Loads onto a trailer with confidence Is incredibly easy to catch in the field (most days he’ll come running to greet you!) Has become an obstacle course expert and is always eager to tackle something new What we’re working on now: Our very first show outing is this weekend! Building confidence around engine noise. Those wheeled horses can still be a little spooky but he’s making great progress every day. Cornelius has all the ingredients to become an exceptional partner. He’s kind, intelligent, people-oriented, and has the type of personality that makes everyone who meets him smile. If you’re looking for a young horse with a wonderful foundation and an even brighter future, Corn Cob might just be your perfect match. What we are great at now: tying, single or cross tying grooming and picking up all four feet lunging both directions yielding on the forehand and hindquarters loads on a trailer stalls or can be out 24/7 wears a surcingle can be ponied of a horse in an arena, through obstacles, or in the field approaching obstacles with curiosity What we are working: being comfortable around motor vehicles new things don’t need to go in our mouth, we’re in a pacifier phase (not nippy!) I would recommend an intermediate handler for Corn Cob, especially with a trainer. He is a smart cookie! With that he has a brain that needs to be engaged, I would not throw him out and ignore him. But he will make a great partner - I could succeeding in anything! With his big shoulder I’d he doing great in the English world, especially dressage. He also loves obstacles!
