IN LONGER TERM TRAINING AND EVALUTION - NOT READY RIGHT NOW Chicago is in training with Adam Black. Follow his progress at #hopteamchicago Chicago still reallly struggles with “human interaction “ and dealing with pressure. He very much hides emotionally and builds his worry. New situation worry him, changes make him nervous, and while hes not a very energetic horse, his mind runs 100 miles per hour. The last month, Ive not asked alot from him. Hes been out to pasture for about 2 weeks. No handling, no stall, just a field full of grass, couple shade trees and some time off. Last week, we brought him back inside and started his routine again. Daily handling, turnout while cleaning his stall, fly mask on and off , fly spray and just general handling. This week we’ve went back to training under saddle. Saddling, long lining , and carrying a rider. While his progress is slow, and I had dreams of him being a “fancy” horse by now, Im ok with where his is. He dictates the pace, not me, and Ill stick by his side until hes ready Details Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs. We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
