About this item

Breed: Pony Gender: Gelding Age: 2 Height: 12.3hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Companion, Trail Riding, Other Adoption fee: $3,000 Location: Heart of Phoenix β€” Shoals, WV PLEASE NOTE: THE INQUIRY FORM ON THIS PAGE IS NOT THE HEART OF PHOENIX ADOPTION APPLICATION Name: Blitzen Foal Date: 2024 Breed: Pony Color: Bay Gender: Gelding Height: HH 12.3 FEE: $3000 Blitzen is in the ATFO Whippersnapper division with Krystan Jo follow along #hopteamBlitzen https://www.facebook.com/kyrstan.jo Blitzen is a 2-year-old Hackney/Shetland/Quarter Pony gelding. He currently stands at 12.3hh. Blitzen has continued to grow and shine in the last month. We have added even more adventures to our list, including Shawnee National Forest, where I ponied Blitzen along through some tough but beautiful terrain. He was the best boy and made himself right at home for the weekend. It was a blast! I wanted to do something a little different for this post. I could go on and on about Blitzen; I truly love the little guy, but there are so many others that do too! Blitzen has had several hands on him over the months, and he has met and been around a lot of great people. So I thought, why not let you hear what they have to say about him? Blitzen was very easy to handle. He showed amazing. He is happy, so cute and he definitely loves attention. He's a good boy. -Kacy (she showed him in a halter class at the first horse show he went to) Blitzen! I have been fortunate to be around him almost daily since Kyrstan began working with him. There are not enough good words to describe this sweet fella. I am verv intimidated by horses but, not Blitzen! He's always very accepting of all my cuddles and happily let's me give him belly rubs. He's calm and so unbothered that it's easy to relax around him. He truly is the best boy and is going to make someone wonderful life long companion! 10/10 Highly recommend! -Keisha It really isn't a trail ride without Blitzen. He has truly become our little trail soda-packing mascot who never shies away from adventure. I have had the honor of riding with Blitzen quite a bit, and he's a very approachable pony. I've never seen him be rude to dogs or anyone, horse or mule. I have never seen Blitzen back down from tough terrain, creeks, logs, or anything you pony him across. He has expressed so much confidence at some stuff even a billy goat would question. Someone is going to be very lucky to own such a cool pony one day, and I'm thankful to have watched Kyrstan's journey with this pony and had the opportunity to be able to ride around him and know him. You won't ever meet another pony like Blitzen. -Alyssa Every time I interact with Blitzen, see him being worked, or out on an adventure, I think, "Man, he would have made the best pony for my daughter when she was younger." Although her first pony taught her a lot, he wasn't a Blitzen. He is literally what every child's dreams are made of! One that comes to you when you go to catch him, that will stand tied for you to love on and groom. Heck, you could finger paint him like a unicorn, and he would enjoy every minute. He will build your kids' confidence as he does everything with ease and is so smart and willing! He will also fill their hearts as he swims in your backyard pond, this guy will be a do-it-all pony! He truly deserves the very best home. - Sarah I've been on multiple rides with Blitzen ponying along, and he is always a joy to have on the trails! He follows well and doesn't scare easily. I ponied him myself and had no trouble, even through trees and being separated from part of the group. Blitzen is the exact type of pony I would buy for my young kids! He's cute, sweet, and eager to learn! -Jamee Blitzen knows all of his basics and then some, he has seen and experienced a lot, and is really becoming quite the been there done that dude. Some highlights: • Stands for the farrier, baths, fly spray, to be groomed, and tacked up. • Leads any way you can imagine. • Fine with dogs, side-by-sides, four-wheelers, heavy machinery, etc. • Good with lunging. • Ponies along on trail rides with large groups. • Will wear breeching and carry saddlebags. • Ground drives wonderfully. Knows walk, trot, back and whoa. • Will pull a sled. • Fine with water. • Crosses anything, man-made obstacles and natural ones. • Easy to catch. • Good in a mixed herd. • Does good away from home in a stall, and handles politely. • Loads and unloads in any kind of trailer. Blitzen is fun to work with and easy to get along with. He has a wonderful foundation and is ready for whatever life and his forever people ask of him. He is so very wonderful, smart, and adventurous! Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs. We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
