What are the fees?

Anything and everything tack related to horse back riding sport whether it be brand new, used, or any condition in between. Everyone has gear lying around. Oftentimes, people are surprised what they can get for it.

And you can list horses, of course! Horses are free to list and free to sell.

Two fees, both on the seller, always shown apart

Selling fee: 5% of the sale amount (your price plus any shipping you charge the buyer, excluding sales tax). Minimum $1.99, never more than $99.

Payment processing: 3.19% + $0.49 of what the buyer pays. This is the cost of taking the payment safely, by card, PayPal or bank transfer.

Both come out of your payout when the order is confirmed. You see them as two lines on the listing form, in the chat when you make or accept an offer, in the order details and on your earnings page.

Example: a saddle sells for $3,000 with a $130 label. Selling fee $99 (capped), payment processing $100.34, you receive $2,800.66.

Nothing on the buyer

Buyers pay the price they see, plus shipping and any sales tax. No buyer fee, no payment processing fee.

The only exception is financing: a buyer who chooses to pay in installments with Affirm pays a 3% financing cost, shown at checkout.

Returns

If an item comes back, tacktack refunds its selling fee. The buyer's refund keeps the payment processor's cost (with a card, about 3% + $0.30 of the amount paid). With PayPal on a saddle trial the money is only held, never taken, so nothing is kept.

Shipping labels at cost

A tacktack prepaid label costs what the carrier charges us. No markup.

Sales tax

tacktack is required to charge and collect sales tax in some states. Sales tax can vary per order. Buyers see it at checkout before paying.
