This beautiful 15” JC Higgins saddle made between the late ‘30s and early ‘40s is freshly restored and has new matching saddle strings all around! REAL sheepskin is in great condition so I did not replace it. I dropped the skirts etc and the rawhide wrapped wood tree appears tight and in remarkable condition in every way. This is a beautiful color and would look amazing in a home but I know a lot of people love these for mules- if you want it as a riding saddle the stirrup leathers should be replaced. One origional hole was punched a bit closer to the edge than the rest, it was the most used hole and wore through. I’ll be happy to swap the origional fenders for a new pair at cost and send you with the originals as well if you want to ride in this saddle. History: this saddle is from back in the day! JC higgings brand saddles were made from the 1900s-1960s and sold through the sears and roebuck&co. They stopped selling through sears catalogs in 1935. This saddle’s latigo keeper number dates it between 1930-1940 to the best of my ability- it’s quality has stood the test of time and now you can own a piece of history!
