Breed: Thoroughbred Gender: Mare Age: 14 Height: 16.0hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Companion, Equine Affaire, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage Adoption fee: $1,000 Location: RED DOG FARM ANIMAL RESCUE NETWORK — Stokesdale, NC Meet Zephyr: A Sweet Companion Looking for a Forever Home Zephyr is a charming and affectionate mare who arrived at Red Dog Farm when her previous owner could no longer care for her. As an Off-The-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB), she, like many others, needed some time to adjust to her new surroundings. However, with patience and care, she has blossomed into a loving and amiable companion. Zephyr's Journey and Personality: Zephyr has shown herself to be a warm-hearted horse who enjoys the comfort of her blanket on chilly days and appreciates the coziness of her stall during inclement weather. Her affectionate nature shines through as she becomes more comfortable in her environment. Health and Care: While her former owner mentioned potential soundness issues, Zephyr has been pasture sound during her time at Red Dog Farm. We plan to continue monitoring her condition, especially as the weather warms and we can work more closely with her and our veterinary team. Social Dynamics: Zephyr is generally sociable with other horses in the pasture. However, she asserts her need to be the herd leader during feeding times. To ensure a harmonious environment, she should be separated from other horses during meals and when receiving treats. Adoption Details: Zephyr's adoption fee is set at $1,000. If you feel that you can provide the loving home she deserves, we encourage you to start the adoption process by filling out an application. Zephyr is looking forward to finding her forever family and sharing her affectionate nature with new companions.
