About this item

Breed: Thoroughbred Gender: Filly Age: 3 Height: 16.0hh Color: Bay Disciplines: Prospect for Any Discipline, RRP Thoroughbred Makeover Eligible Adoption fee: $950 Location: Second Stride — Crestwood, KY 3 year old thoroughbred filly bred in KY Carravaggio (Scat Daddy) out of Driver's Girl by Candy Ride (ARG) Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION! 16 hands. She last worked on 8/7/26 and retired with a left front bow. She should remain on stall rest until 10/7/26. At that point, she will need a rescan of the tendon to check to see if she is ready for round pen turnout. There is no profile on the tendon. La Scatta is able to begin hand walking on grass or another hard surface for 10 minutes/day until 9/17/26. She then should be hand walked for up to 30 minutes until 10/7/26. She should not walk in a deep arena type sand. Scat is an energetic filly that enjoys watching the daily routines of the barn. She enjoys sleeping in the corner and grazing on her hay. She stays quiet while in her stall with some bouts of energy when the other horses are being turned out and coming in. She seems sensible and once she is ready for the round pen, we expect the energy level to come down. Scat is respectful of her handlers and stands nicely for grooming. The tear is in the center of her tendon which should heal fully with proper rehab. Once she is fully healed, and with vet approval, she should be suitable for any discipline by spring of 2027. Second Stride is a rescue; this horse is for adoption, not for sale. Message Second Stride here on tacktack to ask about La Scatta and the adoption process.
