We're pretty sure Dewey is the handsomest little lad there ever was! With his striking, flowing mane, adorable little face, and sweet-as-can-be personality, this 28-year-old miniature horse is quite the heartthrob! Dewey is a simple guy with simple wishes: good food, good company, and someone to love and cherish him just the way he is. He can be a little shy at times, but he's generally a happy little fellow who enjoys spending time with his people. He's especially fond of mealtime and makes sure to savor every last bite! Having spent his life as a pampered pal, we'd love to see that continue in his golden years. He's a lovely little gentleman with great manners, easy to handle, and absolutely wonderful for the farrier. He's not the biggest fan of needles (and who can blame him?), but his small stature makes his routine care manageable. Otherwise, he's simply a pleasure to have around! Dewey does have a few special care needs that his future family should be prepared to continue managing. Due to his dental condition, he requires a mashed diet, but don't worry, his small stature makes him a cheap date! He also has a history of laminitis and has done very well with dry lot management for many years. Additionally, Dewey has Cushing's disease (PPID), which is managed with a daily dose of Prascend each morning. We think these are small considerations for the privilege of having such a handsome and lovable little companion! Dewey came to us alongside his longtime friend Sally, a gorgeous Haflinger pony who has lovingly watched over him (and perhaps bossed him around just a little bit!) for many years. The two make quite the adorable pair, and we'd love to see them find a home together, though adopting them as a pair is not a requirement. Dewey has spent much of his life living with other miniature horses, both mares and geldings, and we believe he could adapt to new equine companions with thoughtful, gradual introductions. Don't let his age fool you. Dewey is no grumpy old man! He's a sweet little soul who deserves to spend his golden years being adored and appreciated for the wonderful fellow he is.
