She came to us with no prior handling, but this smart, curious girl has already made tremendous progress and continues to show us just how much she is capable of learning. For someone who dreams of bringing a horse along from the ground up and building a partnership based on trust, Carbonara could be a very special opportunity. She leads nicely, willingly picks up all four feet for the farrier, and has made fantastic strides in her preparation for riding. She is comfortable with a saddle and has confidently accepted weight in the stirrups, as well as having someone lean over her back both bareback and under saddle. She is well on her way to her first ride and has a wonderful foundation for someone ready to take the next steps with patience and consistency. Beyond her progress on the ground, Carbonara is a sleek, athletic mover with a curious mind and plenty of untapped potential. Her natural movement and willingness to learn could make her an exciting prospect for a variety of equestrian disciplines. Whether you dream of developing a versatile riding partner, exploring a new discipline, or simply enjoying the satisfaction of bringing along your own horse, Carbonara offers a chance to be part of something special from the very beginning. Carbonara has spent two semesters in CSU's ASPCA Right Horse program, where she has worked with students to build confidence around people, develop foundational skills, and prepare for her first ride. She has come a long way, and her progress is a testament to what she can accomplish when given time, consistency, and thoughtful handling. As an extra-special bonus, she even got to meet Temple Grandin! Carbonara is still learning to navigate the world with people, and she can be unpredictable at times. She needs an experienced, patient horseperson who understands that trust is not a shortcut, but the foundation of a lasting partnership. She would be best suited to an adopter willing to continue building that relationship before and throughout the riding process, ideally with the support of a knowledgeable trainer. With the right person in her corner, Carbonara has the opportunity to continue blossoming into the horse she is meant to be. If you love a smart, athletic project and find joy in earning a horse's trust, Carbonara may be the mare you have been waiting for. Her story is still being written, and her next chapter could be with you. Ready to meet your next great partner? Fill out an adoption inquiry for Carbonara today!
